Important notes on the use of CREFIX Red Power
- Homogenize: Shake/homogenize CREFIX Red Power well before use or at least daily!
- Temperatures & climate: Ambient and processing temperature between +5°C and +30°C. Works largely independent of temperature and humidity. If heating is started early (possible after 24 hours!), do not allow the screed temperature to fall below +15°C (if necessary, set the flow temperature to +18-20°C).
- No foreign additives: Must not be combined with other additives to ensure full performance.
- Dosing & cement quantity (standard 250L mixer):
- **Basically:** Observe the recommended cement quantity (see strength table in the data sheet). E.g. for C25/F5 = 50kg cement + 400ml Red Power; C40/F7 = 62.5kg cement + 600ml Red Power.
- **Thin-layer screeds (≥25mm pipe cover up to 3kN/m²):** At least 500ml Red Power and 62.5kg cement per mixture. Insulation layer max. 2mm compressibility.
- **Surface tensile strength >1.5 N/mm²:** At least 500ml Red Power and 62.5kg cement, machine smoothing, W/Z value 0.45-0.50.
- Maximum 1.5% of the cement weight.
- Mixing & processing: Dose CREFIX Red Power onto the moist sand/cement mixture together with the mixing water (premix in the bucket). The amount of mixing water required is reduced by 3-6 liters. Mix for at least 90 seconds before adjusting the consistency, total mixing time 2 minutes.
- Cement quality & aggregate: Suitable cements (e.g. CEM I, CEM II A 42.5 R or grades approved by Crefix). Aggregate according to EN 13139 (grading curve A/B 0-8mm for screed concrete, 0-4mm for screed mortar). For 0-4mm sand, increase cement quantity by 10% or add chippings (0-6mm).
- Early start of heating (protocol!):** Heating of heated screeds according to the specific CREFIX Red Power heating protocol (see downloads), starting 24 hours after screed installation. Ventilate without draughts (3-4 times a day for 20-30 minutes). Avoid overdrying the surface.
- Residual moisture protection & standards:** 60 days residual moisture protection under standardized climatic conditions. CM measurement according to guidelines (BEB data sheet 8.1).
